An original sweet apple and puff pastry to surprise in desserts. Surprise in desserts with some delicious puff pastry and apple roses with a sweet touch of cinnamon. An easy and original recipe perfect for sharing with only four ingredients: puff pastry, apples, sugar and cinnamon.

Ingredients

  • One sheet of rectangular puff pastry
  • Two red apples
  • Three spoonfuls of sugar
  • One teaspoon of ground cinnamon (optional)

Elaboration

  • Add the water and sugar to a saucepan. Cook for 2-3 minutes to soften it and handle it better. Remove the apple from the saucepan with a slotted spoon to remove the water.
  • Flour the puff pastry and stretch with a rolling pin to make it a little thinner. Cut the puff pastry into wide strips, removing any ragged edges.
  • Cover one edge of each strip (leaving the other half free) lengthwise with the apple slices. Make it, so they stick out with the skin part facing out. Sprinkle some cinnamon over the apple. Cover half of the crescents with the remaining puff pastry and roll up lengthwise. Lightly press the dough, so it does not come off, and place them in a muffin tin.
  • Serve the apple roses.

Step by Step

  1. Cut the apples into quarters, core and cut into half moons.
  2. Add the water and sugar to a saucepan.
  3. Flour the puff pastry and stretch with a rolling pin. Cut into wide strips and trim off any ragged edges
  4. Cover one edge of the lengthwise strips with the apple, with the skin sticking out. Cinnamon sprinkle.
  5. Cover the base with the remaining puff pastry, roll it up, and place it in a muffin tin.
  6. Put the roses in the oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
  7. Serve the apple roses.

Tips and tricks

You don’t need to use a muffin tin, you can place the roses directly on a parchment-lined tray, but it’s easier for the roses to hold their shape when cooked using the tin.

You can give it more heat in the oven before eating them so that the apple crust is crispy.
